Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 26/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is located over New Zealand, while a low pressure trough is weakening over western Victoria. A cold front will enter western Victoria this morning and then move across the State during the day, clearing the far northeast at night. On Thursday a high pressure system will develop south of the Bight and drift eastwards on Friday to be over Tasmania on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayAreas of rain and isolated thunderstorms across central and eastern areas, contracting to the far northeast during the day. Moderate to heavy falls possible. Isolated showers in the west, contracting to the coast during the day. Mild to warm and humid with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds shifting cooler gusty southwesterly from the west.Fire Danger -  Moderate to highThursday 28 FebruaryRain and isolated thunderstorms easing to a few showers across the northeast during the morning. Scattered showers in East Gippsland. Isolated showers in remaining southern districts contracting to the coast during the afternoon. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh southerly winds.Friday 1 MarchIsolated showers in the south, mainly about the coast and over Gippsland, more frequent over East Gippsland. Fine and mainly sunny over the remainder of the State. Mild with moderate south to southeast winds, fresh at times about the coastSaturday 2 MarchIsolated showers over Gippsland, scattered in the east. Fine over the remainder, partly cloudy in the south but mainly sunny over the inland.
