Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 26/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough lies over western New South Wales while a strong high pressure system near New Zealand extends a ridge to the far north coast directing warm and moist air across much of the state. A cold front approaching from the west will cross the west and southeast of the state on Wednesday, central parts on Thursday and northeast on Friday. Behind the front another high is expected to move towards Tasmania extending a ridge to the northeast of the state in a wake of the front.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPartly cloudy on the southern half of the coast. Scattered showers in the northeast. Isolated showers and isolated afternoon thunderstorms over the remainder. East to northeast winds.Wednesday 27 FebruaryPartly cloudy in the northeast with isolated showers near the far north coast. Showers or rain and isolated thunderstorms elsewhere. North to northeast winds ahead of a southwest change in the west.Thursday 28 FebruaryIsolated showers in the far northeast and partly cloudy in the far southwest. Showers or rain areas and isolated thunderstorms elsewhere. North to northeast winds before a southerly change in the west and southeast.Friday 1 MarchRain areas and isolated thunderstorms in the northeast. Showers on the south and central coasts an ranges. Partly cloudy in the remainder. South to southeast winds extending throughout.Saturday 2 MarchIsolated showers in the northeast tending scattered near the coast and isolated showers on on the southern half of the coast and adjacent ranges tending scattered on the coast fringe.
