Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 25/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high pressure system south of the State will move eastwards ahead of a stronger high which will develop to the southwest of the Bight on Wednesday before moving slowly eastwards. A cloud band extends from Severe Tropical Cyclone Rusty to the west of South Australia.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayPossible early isolated showers over the South East district. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms west of Ceduna and extending over Eyre Peninsula and the south of the Northwest Pastoral during the afternoon and Yorke Peninsula and Kangaroo Island late evening. Patchy rain over the north of the Northwest Pastoral. Isolated afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms over the east of the Northeast Pastoral. Warm to hot grading to very hot inland, with light to moderate east to southeast winds and fresh coastal sea breezes, ahead of a milder fresh southerly change over the far west.Wednesday 27 FebruaryPossible afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the south of the Northeast Pastoral and northern Flinders districts. Areas of rain in the far northwest with isolated showers elsewhere north of Adelaide and possible showers south of Adelaide. Hot in the northeast, milder further south and west.Thursday 28 FebruaryPossible isolated morning showers about southern coasts and the eastern Eyre Peninsula coast. Possible isolated showers clearing the Northeast Pastoral district. Areas of rain in the far northwest. Warm to hot with moderate east to southeasterly winds.Friday 1 MarchPatchy rain in the west. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north with mainly moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday morning until midnight Friday are expected to be less than 5 mm, reaching 5 to 10 mm over the north and west of the State, increasing to 10 to 20 mm over the Northwest Pastoral and 20 to 40 mm over the far northwest.Saturday until MondayPatchy rain in the far west becoming possible isolated showers on Sunday then extending over Eyre Peninsula on Monday. Mild to warm about the coasts grading to hot in the north with mainly moderate northeast to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
