Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 25/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high pressure system over the Bight will move eastwards ahead of a stronger high which will develop to the southwest of the Bight mid-week before moving slowly eastwards.
Forecast for the rest of MondayFine northeast of a line Leigh Creek to Ernabella. Patchy light rain over eastern districts becoming isolated showers during the evening and contracting east. Isolated showers in the far west. Generally warm to hot grading to very hot in the northeast with moderate southeasterly winds, fresh at times.Tuesday 26 FebruaryIsolated showers and possible afternoon thunderstorms developing west of Ceduna and extending over Eyre Peninsula during the evening. Isolated showers and possible afternoon thunderstorms about eastern districts. Generally hot to very hot ahead of a milder change extending throughout the west and south.Wednesday 27 FebruaryPossible afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the south of the Northeast Pastoral and northern Flinders districts. Areas of rain in the far northwest with isolated showers elsewhere north of Adelaide and possible showers south of Adelaide. Hot in the northeast, milder further south and west.Thursday 28 FebruaryPossible isolated morning showers about southern coasts and the eastern Eyre Peninsula coast. Possible isolated showers clearing the Northeast Pastoral district. Areas of rain in the far northwest. Warm to hot with moderate east to southeasterly winds.Friday 1 MarchPatchy rain in the west. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north with mainly moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon until midnight Friday are expected to be highly variable with falls of less than 5 mm in most areas, with local falls of 5 to 10 mm possible about the West Coast. Areas of rain in the far northwest and thunderstorms are likely to produce falls of 10 to 20mm though depending on the future movement of TC Rusty off the northwest coast of WA, falls in the far northwest may possibly reach 20 to 40mm.Saturday until MondayPatchy rain in the far west becoming possible isolated showers on Sunday then extending over Eyre Peninsula on Monday. Mild to warm about the coasts grading to hot in the north with mainly moderate northeast to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
