Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 24/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough over the west and south of the State will move northeastwards reaching a line Renmark to Ernabella late this evening and throughout early Monday. A weak high will move to the south of the Bight Monday, and a stronger high is expected to develop to the southwest of the Bight around mid week before moving slowly eastward.
Forecast for the rest of SundayPossible isolated showers west of about Keith to Port Augusta with possible isolated thunder about western coasts and the far west. Light to moderate northeast to northerly winds, ahead of a milder fresh southerly change in the west and south extending eastwards to reach a line Renmark to Ernabella late evening.Monday 25 FebruaryFine northeast of a line Leigh Creek to Ernabella. Possible isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere. Generally warm to hot grading to very hot in the northeast with moderate southeasterly winds, fresh at times.Tuesday 26 FebruaryPossible isolated showers and thunderstorms west of Ceduna and on and about eastern districts north of Keith, otherwise fine. Generally hot to very hot ahead of a milder change extending throughout the west and south.Wednesday 27 FebruaryPossible afternoon showers and thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral and northern Flinders districts. Areas of rain in the far northwest with isolated showers elsewhere north of Adelaide, and possible showers south of Adelaide. Hot in the northeast, milder further south and west.Thursday 28 FebruaryPossible isolated morning showers about southern coasts and eastern Eyre Peninsula coast. Possible isolated showers clearing the Northeast Pastoral. Areas of rain in the far northwest. Warm to hot. Cumulative rainfall totals from Sunday afternoon until midnight Thursday are expected to be highly variable with falls of less than 5 mm in most areas, possibly increasing to 10 to 20 mm with thunderstorms and with rain in the far northwest. Depending on the movement of the tropical low off the NW coast of WA falls in the far northwest may possibly reach 20 to 40mm.Friday until SundayPatchy rain in the west easing to isolated showers and clearing during Sunday. Possible morning showers about southern coasts on Friday. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north with mainly moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Monday.Product IDS10033
