Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 23/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A large high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea will move east over the New Zealand south Island later today. A low pressure trough over the eastern Bight will reach western Victoria later today, then stall over the State on Monday and Tuesday. A cold front will cross waters south of the Bight on Tuesday, then move across Victoria during Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the east, increasing during the day and tending to rain at times in the far east. Isolated showers possible in the southwest in the late afternoon and evening. A warm to hot and partly cloudy day across much of the State, but milder with increasing cloud over the far east. Generally light winds and afternoon seabreezes near the coast.Fire Danger -  High to Very High.Monday 25 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms mainly over central and eastern parts, more widespread about the eastern ranges. Isolated showers over the southwest during the morning. Generally warm with light winds tending southerly during the afternoon.Tuesday 26 FebruaryScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the east. Generally warm with light winds and afternoon seabreezes near the coast.Wednesday 27 FebruaryScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, increasing to rain areas about the central and eastern ranges, then easing in the west later. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds shifting cooler southwesterly from the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
