MELBOURNE - Feb 23/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system will weaken over inland New South Wales today, as a strong high near New Zealand extends a ridge across the Tasman Sea. Rainy conditions over the state's southeast will ease as the ridge becomes dominant, although warm and humid winds will likely lead to unsettled conditions in many districts through the next few days. A cold front is expected during the second half of the week. Forecast for the rest of SundayRain periods in the southeast, with heavy falls possible. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, becoming scattered about the northern tablelands and adjacent areas during the afternoon. The chance of showers and thunderstorms about central districts and in the northern inland. Fine and partly cloudy in the far west. North to northeast winds in the east, fresh and gusty about the coast and tablelands. Southerly winds in the western inland. Dangerous surf conditions along southern and central coasts.Monday 25 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the eastern half. Scattered showers in the northeast. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. East to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 26 FebruaryIsolated showers across the state, tending scattered about the northeast and southern inland. Isolated thunderstorms over the southern inland. East to northeast winds.Wednesday 27 FebruaryIsolated showers across the state, tending scattered about the northeast and and across the south. Possible thunderstorms across the south.
