MELBOURNE - Feb 23/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough over the far west of the State will move northeastwards reaching a line Renmark to Ernabella late Sunday evening. A weak high will move to the south of the Bight Monday, and a stronger high is expected to develop to the southwest of the Bight around mid week. Forecast for the rest of SundayPossible isolated showers extending from the west to areas west of about Keith to Port Augusta with possible isolated thunderstorms about western coasts and the far west. Hot to very hot with light to moderate northeast to northerly winds, ahead of a milder fresh and gusty southerly change in the west extending eastwards to reach a line Renmark to Ernabella late evening.Monday 25 FebruaryFine northeast of a line Broken Hill to Ernabella. Possible isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere. Generally warm to hot with moderate southeasterly winds, fresh at times.Tuesday 26 FebruaryFine over the far northeast. Possible isolated showers elsewhere with possible isolated thunderstorms about central and eastern parts. A milder south to southeasterly change extending throughout the west and south.Wednesday 27 FebruaryIsolated showers, mainly north of Adelaide, possibly more widespread in the far northwest. Moderate to fresh southerly winds extending throughout. Hot in the northeast, milder further south and west. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday afternoon until midnight Wednesday are expected to be highly variable with falls of less than 5 mm in most areas, possibly increasing to 10 to 20 mm in the far west.Thursday until SaturdayPossible isolated showers north of Ceduna to Woomera to Broken Hill contracting to the far west by Friday.
