MELBOURNE - Feb 21/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak trough of low pressure combined with surface moisture will produce convective activity over central and eastern parts of the State through to late Friday. A more significant trough will move across the west of the State on Saturday and reach a line Renmark to Coober Pedy late Sunday evening, followed by a weak high which will move to the south of the State early next week. Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and thunderstorms east of a line Coober Pedy to Wudinna to Cape Jervis, tending scattered on and east of the ranges in the afternoon. Warm to hot with light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds and moderate to fresh coastal sea breezes.Saturday 23 FebruaryHot to very hot and mostly sunny. Possible isolated showers developing near western coasts later in the day, with the chance of isolated thundery showers in the far west. Light to moderate northeast to northerly winds shifting moderate to fresh southerly in the west in the afternoon or evening.Sunday 24 FebruaryPossible isolated showers extending over the agricultural area, North West Pastoral and West Coast district. Hot to very hot with light to moderate northerly winds, ahead of a milder southerly fresh and gusty change in the west extending eastwards to reach a line Renmark to Coober Pedy late evening.Monday 25 FebruaryFine northeast of a line Broken Hill to Ernabella. Possible isolated showers elsewhere. Generally warm to hot with moderate southeast to easterly winds, fresh at times. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday morning until midnight Monday are expected to be generally 1 to 5 mm. Local falls to 20 mm are possible with thunderstorms.Tuesday until ThursdayPossible isolated showers except in the northeast interior, extending northeast and clearing from the south.
