Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 20/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system southeast of Tasmania will move slowly eastwards across the south Tasman Sea during today and Friday. A low pressure system will weaken off the New South Wales coast on Saturday, while a broad low pressure system will develop over central Australia with a trough entering the west of the State later Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayCloudy with morning drizzle in the south. Partly cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms over central and eastern areas, becoming more frequent during the afternoon over the ranges. Generally warm to hot with moderate east to southeast winds, becoming fresh and gusty about the coast. Winds shifting east to northeast inland during the day.Fire Danger -  Moderate to high.Friday 22 FebruaryPartly cloudy with isolated showers and thunderstorms over most districts, mainly in the afternoon and becoming more frequent in the west. Warm to hot with light to moderate northeast to easterly winds, fresh and gusty about the coast.Saturday 23 FebruaryIsolated showers in the east, tending to rain areas along the northeast border. Fine and mainly sunny over the remainder of the State. A warm to hot day with northeast to northerly winds, and fresh afternoon coastal seabreezes.Sunday 24 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the north and east, mainly during the afternoon. Fine elsewhere until isolated showers and thunderstorms develop in the southwest later in the day. Very warm to hot with moderate to fresh northerly, shifting milder southwesterly in the the west late in the dayThe next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.Product IDV10310
