Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 16/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system over the western Tasman Sea extends a ridge along the New South Wales coast and is directing easterly winds across much of the state. The high will gradually move to the east over the next few days, with a low pressure system expected to develop off the northern Tasman Sea early in the week.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers about the coast and adjacent ranges, tending scattered on the north coast with the chance of thunderstorms. The chance of showers and thunderstorms in the west and on the Alps. Partly cloudy in the remainder. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Sunday 17 FebruaryIsolated showers east of the ranges, tending scattered along the coast and the ranges in the north with the chance of thunderstorms. Fine in the west. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Monday 18 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Showers tending scattered near the coast. Partly cloudy in the remainder. East to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 19 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the east. Showers tending scattered near the coast, and tending to rain on the far north coast. Locally heavy falls possible. Northeast to southeast winds.Wednesday 20 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the south and east.
