Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 15/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow moving high pressure system is centred south of Tasmania and extends a ridge to the Tasman Sea. The high will drift eastwards and will be centred over the Tasman Sea on Saturday. The high will then move slowly eastwards towards New Zealand with the next low pressure trough approaching western Victoria late on Monday. The trough will move through the State on Tuesday with the next high moving into the Bight by Tuesday night.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and thunderstorms, scattered about the ranges, with locally heavy falls. Light winds and coastal seabreezes easing.Saturday 16 FebruaryFine apart from isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms, mainly about southern and mountain districts. Warm to hot with light northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger -  Generally high to very high.Sunday 17 FebruaryFine and mainly sunny. Warm to hot with light to moderate east to northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Monday 18 FebruaryFine and mainly sunny. Warm to hot day with moderate northerly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Tuesday 19 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the south. Moderate, warm to hot northerly winds shifting southwesterly to southerly from the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Saturday.Product IDV10310
