MELBOURNE - Feb 14/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A slow moving high pressure system is centred south of Tasmania and extends a ridge to the Tasman Sea. The high will drift eastwards over the next few days and will be centred over the Tasman Sea on Saturday. The high will then move slowly eastwards towards New Zealand with the next low pressure trough approaching western Victoria late on Monday. Forecast for the rest of FridayMorning fog patches in the south. Isolated showers and thunderstorms, scattered about the ranges during the afternoon, with locally heavy falls. Warm to hot with light to moderate east to northeasterly winds and fresh afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger - Moderate to high.Saturday 16 FebruaryFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms about the eastern ranges during the afternoon and evening. Warm to hot with light easterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Sunday 17 FebruaryFine and mainly sunny.
