Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 13/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A large high pressure system west of Tasmania will move slowly east to be located over the Tasman Sea on the weekend. A trough of low pressure will approach the western border later Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms over eastern districts north of about Naracoorte. Warm to hot with moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 15 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms east of about Streaky Bay to Oodnadatta. Generally hot and humid. Moderate northeast to southeasterly winds.Saturday 16 FebruaryThe chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms east of about Streaky Bay to Oodnadatta. Generally hot and humid. Moderate northeast to southeasterly winds.Sunday 17 FebruaryFine apart from the chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral north of about Marree. Hot grading to very hot in the west with mainly moderate northerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Thursday until midnight Sunday will be highly variable due to the unstable weather conditions forecast this week and are expected to be in the range 1 to 5 mm. Isolated falls of 10 to 30 mm are possible with thunderstorms over and to the east of the Mount Lofty Ranges. Most of this precipitation is expected on Thursday and Friday.Monday until WednesdayHot to very hot with mainly moderate northerly winds, ahead of a milder, fresh southerly change in the west early Monday extending eastwards to reach the northeast of the State on Tuesday. Isolated showers following the change, contracting to southern and western coasts on Wednesday. Cool near southern coasts on Wednesday grading to warm to hot in the far north with moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Thursday.Product IDS10033
