Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 11/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow moving high pressure system is centred south of the Bight and extends a ridge eastwards across Tasmania to the Tasman Sea. By Wednesday, the high will be centred just west of Tasmania and will move slowly over the Tasman Sea on Thursday. Meanwhile, a low pressure trough over inland Australia extends southwards to northern Victoria and will drift slowly westwards later in the week.
Forecast for the rest of MondayDry apart from the chance of a shower or thunderstorm about the far eastern ranges this evening. South to southeasterly winds fresh near the coast.Tuesday 12 FebruaryDry apart from morning fog patches in the south. Mild in the south but warm over the north. Light to moderate southeasterly wind tending fresh east to southeasterly near the coast.Fire Danger -  High.Wednesday 13 FebruaryDry apart from morning fog patches in the south and isolated showers and thunderstorms over the eastern ranges and over the far northwest during the afternoon. Warm to hot inland with light to moderate east to southeasterly winds, but milder near the coast with fresh afternoon seabreezes.Thursday 14 FebruaryMorning fog patches in the south. Isolated showers and thunderstorms extending to most districts, mainly during the afternoon. A warm to hot day with light to moderate north to northeasterly winds, but fresh fresh east to southeasterly winds developing about the coast.Friday 15 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms mainly along the ranges and over the west. Generally warm to hot with light to moderate easterly winds, freshening along the coast during the afternoon.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Tuesday.Product IDV10310
