Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 11/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A strong high pressure system south of the Bight extends a ridge along the southern New South Wales coast, while a weakening trough lies over the state's northeast. A second low pressure trough extends through western Queensland and New South Wales, and will remain a feature of the region as the high moves gradually east during the next few days.
Forecast for the rest of MondayFine over the western inland. Isolated showers elsewhere, tending scattered with afternoon thunderstorms about the Hunter, the central west and northwest slopes, and adjacent areas. Mainly southeast to northeasterly winds.Tuesday 12 FebruaryIsolated showers in the east, tending scattered in the northeast with possible thunderstorms. The chance of showers and thunderstorms about the central and northern inland, mainly afternoon. Fine and partly cloudy over the southern inland and the far west. Mostly southeast to northeasterly winds.Wednesday 13 FebruaryIsolated showers about the northern and central coasts and adjacent ranges. The chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms across the western inland. Possible showers about the southern Alps. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 14 FebruaryThe chance of showers about the coast north from Nowra, more likely on the northern coast. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the far west, and about the western slopes of the southern ranges. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 15 FebruaryIsolated showers about the coast and adjacent ranges. Isolated afternoon showers in the far west, with the chance of thunderstorms near the South Australian border.
