Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 11/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of the Bight will move slowly east this week to be located south of Adelaide on Wednesday, then over the Tasman Sea at the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of MondayCloudy across the north with patchy light rain. Isolated showers developing elsewhere northwest of a line Ceduna to Moomba by the end of the day. Possible thunderstorms over the Northwest Pastoral district west of about Tarcoola. Fine elsewhere. Cool to mild evening over agricultural areas, grading to mild to warm in the south. Light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresh to strong about the coasts.Tuesday 12 FebruaryCloudy with possible isolated showers northwest of a line about Streaky Bay to Leigh Creek. Possible thunderstorms in the northeast and west of about Tarcoola. Mild to warm about the coasts and hot inland. Light to moderate southeasterly winds and fresh to strong afternoon sea breezes.Wednesday 13 FebruaryFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms over the Flinders and Pastoral districts east of about Tarcoola to Ernabella. Warm to hot. Light to moderate southeasterly winds and fresh afternoon sea breezes.Thursday 14 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms over eastern districts north of about Keith. Warm to hot with moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 15 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms over eastern districts, possibly extending further west to reach a line Yorke Peninsula to Oodnadatta. Warm to hot and becoming humid. Moderate northeast to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday afternoon until midnight Thursday will be highly variable due to the unstable weather conditions forecast this week and are expected to range from up to 5 mm, increasing to 5 to 15 mm on and east of the ranges with thunderstorms producing higher falls of 10 to 30 mm. Most of this precipitation is expected on Thursday and Friday.Saturday until MondayIsolated showers and thunderstorms continuing over the east of the State then gradually contracting to the eastern border later in the period. Mostly warm to hot conditions, becoming less humid late in the weekend. Light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds turning southerly later.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
