MELBOURNE - Feb 10/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough lies across northeastern New South Wales while a high pressure system is moving slowly towards Tasmania extending a ridge along the southern and central coasts. During Tuesday the trough will move west and weaken as the high strengthens the ridge to the north coast. This high is expected to become slow moving near Tasmania on Wednesday maintaining the ridge across most of the state over the next few days. . Forecast for the rest of MondayFine and partly cloudy over the western inland. Isolated showers elsewhere, tending scattered with afternoon thunderstorms about the central tablelands and adjacent areas, and parts of the northeast. Southeast to northeasterly winds in the north, and south to southeasterly winds elsewhere.Tuesday 12 FebruaryIsolated showers in the east, mainly about the northern coast and ranges, and about the northern inland. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms about the central tablelands, and across the north. Fine and partly cloudy over the southern and central inland. Mostly southeast to northeasterly winds.Wednesday 13 FebruaryIsolated showers about the northern and central coasts and adjacent ranges. The chance of afternoon showers and afternoon thunderstorms across the western inland. Possible showers about the southern Alps. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Thursday 14 FebruaryThe chance of showers about the central coast, becoming more likely on the northern coast.
