MELBOURNE - Feb 9/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough will be slow moving over the northeast of the State over the next few days. A weak high pressure ridge extends across the Bight with a cold front expected to move across southern coasts on Saturday, before a new high builds to the south of the Bight on Sunday and Monday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayThe chance of isolated afternoon thundery showers in the far northwest and also over the Flinders, Riverland, Mid North and far south of the pastoral districts. Isolated light showers developing about southern coasts during this morning. Mild to warm about the southern agricultural area, grading to very hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southerly winds, tending west to southwest in the southeast and light to moderate northeast to northwest in the far north.Sunday 10 FebruaryThe chance of isolated showers in the far northwest. Isolated light morning showers about southern and western coasts. Mild to warm over the agricultural area, grading to hot to very hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh south to southeast winds.Monday 11 FebruaryFine throughout with some high cloud developing in the far northwest. Mild to warm in the south, hot to very hot in the north. Light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresh about the coasts.Tuesday 12 FebruaryFine and mostly sunny with light to moderate southeasterly winds and fresh afternoon sea breezes. Mild to warm about the coasts and hot inland. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday morning until midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 1 mm, although falls of 1 to 5 mm are possible in the far northwest.Wednesday until FridayFine and warm to hot on Wednesday. Hot to very hot on Thursday and Friday with possible showers developing east of the ranges and north of about Renmark and also in the far northwest on Friday.
