Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 8/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow-moving high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the northern New South Wales coast. A low pressure trough will move across the state during the weekend as the high approaches New Zealand and the ridge over the northeast weakens. This trough is expected to to stall over the eastern inland on Monday as another high moves towards Tasmania extending a ridge along the coast.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers on the far north coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of afternoon or evening showers and thunderstorms with little if any rainfall in the southeast. The chance of late showers in the far southwest. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot inland. Northeast to northwesterly winds tending light and variable inland.Saturday 9 FebruaryFine in the northwest. Isolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms elsewhere, tending scattered on the far north coast and adjacent ranges. Hot to very hot inland. Northeast to northwesterly winds tending light and variable inland.Fire Danger -  Very High over southern NSW.Sunday 10 FebruaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the east, more widespread on the northern ranges during the afternoon. Northwest to northeast winds ahead of a mild southerly change moving through the south and west of the state.Monday 11 FebruaryPartly cloudy in the west. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Tuesday 12 FebruaryIsolated showers in the northeast and on the Alps. Fine remainder.
