Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 8/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough will be slow moving over the northeast of the State over the next few days. A weak high pressure ridge extends across the Bight with a cold front expected to move across southern coasts on Saturday, before a new high builds to the south of the Bight on Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayPossible morning showers about the Lower South East Coast. Possible isolated thundery showers over the Pastoral districts, Flinders, Mid North and Riverland during the afternoon and evening. Mild to warm about the southern agricultural area, grading to very hot in the far northeast. Mainly moderate southwest to southerly winds, tending northeast to northerly in the far northeast.Saturday 9 FebruaryThe chance of isolated afternoon thundery showers in the far northwest and also over the Flinders, Riverland and far south of the Northeast Pastoral districts. Isolated light showers developing about southern coasts and ranges from late morning. Mild to warm about the southern agricultural area, grading to very hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southerly winds, tending west to southwest in the southeast and light to moderate northeast to northwest in the far north.Sunday 10 FebruaryThe chance of isolated showers in the far northwest. Possible isolated light morning showers about southern and western coasts. Mild to warm over the agricultural area, grading to hot to very hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh south to southeast winds.Monday 11 FebruaryPossible isolated light morning showers about southern coasts. Cloudy with possible showers in the far northwest. Fine elsewhere. Mild to warm in the south, hot to very hot in the north. Light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresh about the coasts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday morning until midnight Monday are expected to be less than 1 mm, although falls of 1 to 5 mm are possible in the far northwest.Tuesday until ThursdayFine and becoming warmer on Tuesday and Wednesday. Increasing humidity and possible showers developing east of the ranges and north of about Renmark on Thursday. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds and fresh afternoon sea breezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
