MELBOURNE - Feb 5/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will move slowly eastwards during this week. A trough will move across southern and western parts of the State on Wednesday, and will become slow moving over the Pastoral districts on Thursday and Friday. Weak fronts will move to the south of the State from mid week. A new high will develop southwest of the Bight later in the week. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine and clear. Mild near southern coasts grading to warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Moderate afternoon coastal sea breezes.Wednesday 6 FebruaryFine with increasing high cloud. Generally hot with moderate northerly winds, fresh at times in the morning. A milder southerly wind change extending over western and southern parts of the State during the day, reaching the south of the Flinders and Pastoral districts in the late afternoon or evening and becoming fresh and gusty.Thursday 7 FebruaryFine apart from the chance of isolated showers and thunder developing over the Northwest Pastoral, and possible morning showers near the Lower South East coast. Mild to warm about the southern agricultural area, hot elsewhere. Mainly moderate southwest to southerly winds, tending northeast to northerly in the far north.Friday 8 FebruaryFine apart from the chance of isolated showers and thunder over the Pastoral and Flinders districts south of about Broken Hill to Oodnadatta, and possible morning showers near the Lower South East coast. Mild to warm about the southern agricultural area, grading to hot to very hot in the far north. Mainly moderate southwest to southerly winds, tending northeast to northerly in the far north.Saturday 9 FebruaryFine apart from the chance of isolated showers and thunder over the Pastoral and Flinders districts south of about Broken Hill to Oodnadatta, and possible showers near southern coasts. Mild to warm about the southern agricultural area, grading to hot to very hot in the far north. Mainly moderate southwest to southerly winds, more westerly in the south in the morning, tending northeast to northerly in the far north. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday afternoon to midnight Saturday are expected to be insignificant.Sunday until TuesdayThe chance of isolated showers in the far northwest. Isolated morning showers in the Lower South East on Sunday. Generally mild over the southern agricultural area, grading to hot to very hot in the far north.
