MELBOURNE - Feb 4/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A slow-moving high pressure system lies over the southern Tasman Sea, extending a ridge to the northern New South Wales coast. A low pressure trough is expected to move across the state during the weekend as the high approaches New Zealand and the ridge over the northeast weakens. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayScattered showers along the northern coast and adjacent ranges, easing later in the day. The chance of showers about the southern coast, chiefly in the morning. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms developing on the southern ranges and western slopes, mainly near the Victorian border. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere in the west. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 6 FebruaryIsolated showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges, tending scattered in the far north. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Thursday 7 FebruaryIsolated showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. Northeast to northwesterly winds.Friday 8 FebruaryIsolated showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges, and the chance of showers in the far southeastern inland. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere.
