MELBOURNE - Feb 4/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over Tasmania will move to the Tasman Sea on Tuesday as a low pressure trough crosses waters south of the Bight. The trough will enter southwest Victoria Wednesday afternoon, reaching central districts during the evening before lingering over the State on Thursday and Friday. Forecast for the rest of MondayFine apart from isolated clearing showers about the far eastern ranges. Mostly clear. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 5 FebruaryFine apart from isolated early morning fog in the south and isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms about the far eastern ranges. A warm and mostly sunny day inland with light winds. Milder along the coastal fringe with moderate to fresh afternoon seabreezes.Fire Danger - Generally high to very high.Wednesday 6 FebruaryWarm to hot and mostly sunny with moderate to locally fresh northwesterly winds. A cooler southwest to southerly change entering the far southwest during the afternoon and reaching central and northwest districts during the evening but remaining dry.Thursday 7 FebruaryWarm to hot with moderate to fresh northwesterly winds. Milder afternoon seabreezes developing near the coast.
