Isolated showers and thunderstorms will continue over the Peninsula district and are likely to extend to the Gulf Country and far northwest of the state as moisture increases in this area. Forecast for Thursday The high should remain near New Zealand and will maintain a ridge over Queensland's eastern districts and fine conditions across much of the state. Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the state's northwest and the Peninsula district.. Outlook for Friday, Saturday and Sunday The high should weaken slightly as it lingers near New Zealand, which in turn will allow winds along Queensland's east coast to ease. Nevertheless the onshore winds should still be able to produce isolated showers over the eastern districts, tending scattered at times, especially about the North Tropical Coast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms should persist through the tropics. Fine and mostly sunny over the interior and west of the state. The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:10 pm EST Monday.
