MELBOURNE - Feb 3/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system over the Tasman Sea is slowly moving to the southeast as a high pressure centre in the Bight extends a ridge across New South Wales. The high pressure ridge will extend along the coast on Monday before the high pressure centre moves to the east of Tasmania on Tuesday. Coastal showers are expected to continue for the next few days with an onshore southeast to northeast airstream. Towards the end of the week a trough is expected to move from west to east across New South Wales. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers along the coast and ranges, tending scattered near the coastal fringe in the north. Morning fog patches in the east. Fine elsewhere. East to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 5 FebruaryIsolated showers about the coast and ranges, more widespread in the north. The chance of thunderstorms during the afternoon over the Alps. Morning fog patches in the east. Fine elsewhere. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 6 FebruaryIsolated showers along the coastal districts in the north, more widespread along the coastal fringe in the far north. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Thursday 7 FebruaryIsolated showers on the north coast and near the Victorian border in the far south.
