Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 3/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system over western parts of the Tasman Sea is slowly moving to the southeast as a high pressure centre in the Bight extends a ridge across New South Wales. The combination of these two systems is producing cool southerly winds across New South Wales and showers over coastal districts. As the low moves further away tonight the wind over New South Wales will turn southeasterly and temperatures will gradually rise. The high pressure ridge will extend along the coast on Monday before the high pressure centre moves to the east of Tasmania on Tuesday. Coastal showers are expected to continue for the next few days with an onshore southeast to northeast airstream.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers over the central and southern coastal districts. Dry elsewhere. Southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh and gusty near the northern coast.Monday 4 FebruaryScattered showers about the coast and ranges, most likely along the coastal fringe at first but extending west to the eastern ranges during the day. Morning fog patches in the east. Fine elsewhere. East to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 5 FebruaryIsolated showers about the coast and ranges, more widespread in the north. The chance of thunderstorms during the afternoon over the Alps. Morning fog patches in the east. Fine elsewhere. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 6 FebruaryIsolated showers along the coastal districts in the north, more widespread along the coastal fringe in the far north. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Thursday 7 FebruaryIsolated showers on the north coast and near the Victorian border in the far south.
