MELBOURNE - Jan 30/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak ridge over the coast and northern ranges and a slow moving inland trough. A trough/front system will move across the state during late Thursday and on Friday before the trough deepens into a low off the south coast on Saturday. This low is expected to move rapidly to the east on Sunday as a high over the Bight extends a ridge along the coast. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds before a gusty southwesterly change in the southwest and far southeast. Dangerous surf conditions.Fire Danger - Very High in Southern Slopes and in Eastern southern and Northern Riverina.Friday 1 February Isolated showers and thunderstorms in eastern half, tending scattered in the southeast and about northwest slopes. Partly cloudy in the west. Southwest to southerly winds extending to the northeast, strong along the coast. Dangerous surf conditions. Saturday 2 FebruaryIsolated showers in the east, tending scattered on the southern half of the coast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Southwest to southerly winds extending throughout, gusty along the coast.Sunday 3 FebruaryIsolated coastal showers. Mostly sunny inland.
