MELBOURNE - Jan 30/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A weak ridge of high pressure extends over the State. A cold front will move over the southeast of the State on Thursday morning, followed by a large high southwest of Perth which will ridge in over the Bight during the weekend. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine apart from possible isolated light showers about southern coasts. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot over the pastoral and Flinders districts. Light to moderate southwest to southerly winds, turning west to northwesterly in the south.Thursday 31 JanuaryIsolated showers extending over the agricultural area, West Coast district and far south of the pastoral districts, tending scattered over the southern agricultural area until early afternoon. Cool in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to northwest winds, ahead of a fresh southwest to southerly change extending throughout.Friday 1 FebruaryIsolated showers over the southern agricultural area, with possible isolated light morning showers over the northern agricultural area and West Coast district. Cool over the agricultural area, grading to mild further north. Fresh southerly winds.Saturday 2 FebruaryIsolated showers over southern coasts. Possible isolated light morning showers over the remainder of the coasts. Cool to mild, grading to warm in the far north. Moderate to fresh southerly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday morning to midnight Friday are expected to be less than 2 mm, reaching 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area and 5 to 10 mm about southern coasts and the south of the Mount Lofty Ranges.Sunday 3 February Possible isolated light showers about southern coasts and ranges. Mild in the south, warm in the north. Light to moderate south to southeast winds and fresh afternoon coastal sea breezes. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon to midnight Sunday are expected to be less than 2 mm, reaching 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area and 5 to 10 mm about southern coasts and ranges.
