Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 29/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low off the South Coast is moving rapidly to the southeast. Widespread rain and gale force winds associated with this system have moved out to sea. A weak trough will persist over northeastern parts of the state Wednesday, then strengthen Thursday and Friday as the next cold front approaches.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers in the northeast, and possibly about the central part of the coast and adjacent ranges in the morning. Possible afternoon thunderstorms in the northeast. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds. Dangerous surf conditions.Thursday 31 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast tending scattered along the far north coast and possibly locally heavy. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds before a gusty southwesterly change in the southwest.Friday 1 FebruaryIsolated showers in eastern districts, tending scattered about the southern and central coast and ranges later. Possible isolated afternoon thunderstorms in the east. Fine in the west. Southwest to southerly winds extending to the northeast, strong along the coast.Saturday 2 FebruaryIsolated showers in the east, tending scattered in the northeast later with possible thunderstorms.
