Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 28/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak cold front is over Bass Strait and is drifting eastwards. A high pressure ridge will briefly build over southern Victoria on Tuesday as Ex-Tropical Cyclone Oswald moves southwards along the NSW coast and pass to the east of Victoria later. A cold front will approach western Victoria later on Wednesday before moving across the State on Thursday introducing colder southwesterly winds.
Forecast for the rest of MondayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the east, tending more widespread over the far east. Isolated showers possible in remaining southern districts. Fine over the northwest. Moderate to locally fresh south to southwesterly winds.Tuesday 29 JanuaryScattered showers over the far east becoming isolated later. Isolated showers in remaining southern areas clearing during the morning. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds.Fire Danger -  Generally High to Very High.Wednesday 30 JanuaryFine after isolated morning showers in East Gippsland. Mild near the coast, warmer inland with light to moderate westerly winds and afternoon seabreezes.Thursday 31 JanuaryScattered showers extending eastwards across the State, although only isolated showers north of the Divide. Warm, moderate to fresh northwesterly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change extending from the west.Friday 1 FebruaryShowers in southern and mountain areas, isolated elsewhere. Isolated thunderstorms. A cool to cold day with a fresh to strong and gusty southerly wind.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Tuesday.Product IDV10310
