MELBOURNE - Jan 20/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system south of the Bight will weaken ahead of another high moving south of the Bight on Tuesday, which will move further eastwards to be southeast of Tasmania later Wednesday. A front will move over the State on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of MondayIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms northeast of about Marree to Marla. Fine elsewhere. Mild to warm near southern coasts grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate southeasterly winds, tending moderate to fresh southerly during the afternoon and evening.Tuesday 22 JanuaryIsolated showers and possible thunder over the far northeast of the State. Partly cloudy in the south with possible isolated light showers after midday over the Lower South East coast and south coast of Kangaroo Island. Mild about southern coasts grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 23 JanuaryFine. Mild to warm near southern coasts grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to east winds.Thursday 24 JanuaryPossible isolated showers near southern and western coasts in the afternoon or evening. Hot to very hot with mainly moderate northeast to northwest winds, ahead of a milder, fresh to strong and gusty southwest to southerly change in the west around midday, extending eastwards to reach eastern districts towards midnight. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday morning until midnight Thursday are expected to be less than 1 mm.Friday until SundayPossible isolated showers south of Woomera to Broken Hill, contracting eastwards and clearing by evening. A fine weekend throughout.
