Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 20/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system near Bass Strait will move eastwards to lie over the Tasman Sea tonight. A weak inland trough will linger near northeastern Victoria on Monday and Tuesday. A cold front will cross Tasmania during Tuesday as a new high pressure systems develops over the Bight. The new high will drift to the south of Tasmania during Wednesday. A cold front will approach from the west during Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayFine. Light to moderate south to southeast winds, fresh at times near the coast.Monday 21 JanuaryFine apart from the chance of isolated afternoon showers or thunderstorms near the eastern ranges. A warm to hot day inland with light winds tending moderate westerly in the afternoon. Milder near the coast with moderate to fresh afternoon seabreezes.Fire Danger -  High to Very High.Tuesday 22 JanuaryFine apart from the chance of isolated showers in the far east and also over the far southwest later. A generally sunny day with moderate southwest to southerly winds, fresh at times near the coast. Warm inland and milder near the coast.Wednesday 23 JanuaryFine over the north and west. Patchy drizzle over the Central and Gippsland districts, mainly during the morning. A mild to warm day with a light to moderate southeasterly wind becoming fresh to strong near the coast later.Thursday 24 JanuaryFine for most of the time. Isolated showers and thunderstorms possible over the eastern ranges during the afternoon and evening. The chance of isolated showers in the west later. A warm to hot day with a light to moderate northerly wind freshening in the west ahead of a cooler southwesterly change in the far southwest at night.
