MELBOURNE - Jan 19/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system to the west of Victoria will move to the Tasman Sea during Sunday. A weak inland trough will linger near northeastern Victoria on Monday and Tuesday. A cold front will cross Tasmania during Tuesday as a new high pressure systems develops over the Bight. The new high will drift to the south of Tasmania during Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine apart from areas of smoke haze over Gippsland. Light to moderate southerly winds, fresh at times about the coast.Sunday 20 JanuaryFine apart from areas of smoke haze over Gippsland. Early cloud in the south then a sunny day throughout. Warm inland with generally light southeast winds. Milder near the coast with freshening afternoon seabreezes.Fire Danger - Generally High.Monday 21 JanuaryFine apart from the chance of isolated afternoon showers or thunderstorms near the eastern ranges. A warm to hot day inland with light winds tending moderate westerly in the afternoon. Milder near the coast with moderate to fresh afternoon seabreezes.Tuesday 22 JanuaryFine apart from the chance of isolated showers in the far east and also over the far southwest later. A generally sunny day with moderate southwest to southerly winds, fresh at times near the coast. Warm inland and milder near the coast.Wednesday 23 JanuaryFine over the north and west. Patchy drizzle over the Central and Gippsland districts, mainly during the morning.
