Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 19/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough will linger over the far northeast of the State for the next few days. A high pressure system south of the Bight will weaken ahead of another high developing south of the Bight on Tuesday, which will move eastwards to be southeast of Tasmania later Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms northeast of about Coober Pedy to Yunta. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.Sunday 20 JanuaryIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms northeast of about Leigh Creek to Coober Pedy. Fine elsewhere. Mild near southern coasts, grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds and coastal sea breezes.Monday 21 JanuaryIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms northeast of about Leigh Creek to Coober Pedy. Fine elsewhere. Mild to warm near southern coasts grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate southeasterly winds, tending moderate to fresh southerly during the afternoon and evening.Tuesday 22 JanuaryIsolated showers over the far northwest corner, with isolated showers and possible thunder over the far northeast of the State. Partly cloudy in the south with possible isolated showers about southern coasts. Mild about southern coasts grading to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 23 JanuaryIsolated showers in the far northeast, clearing by evening. Fine elsewhere. Mild to warm near southern coasts grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate southeast to east winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday evening until midnight Wednesday are expected to be less than 1 mm about southern coasts, and 2 to 5 mm over the Pastoral districts north of about Coober Pedy to Leigh Creek.Thursday until SaturdayIsolated showers developing in the west, extending over areas south of about Woomera to Broken Hill early on Friday, then contracting northeastwards during the day and clearing later. The chance of isolated showers in the far north on Saturday. Hot to very hot on Thursday ahead of a milder change extending from the west, then mild in the south on Friday and Saturday grading to hot in the north. Moderate northerly winds, then moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds following the change and persisting.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
