Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 18/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front is moving through the west and southeast of the state with hot northwesterly winds ahead of milder southerly winds behind the front. The front will weaken into a trough over the northeast of the state on Saturday as another high moves towards Tasmania extending a ridge across the west and southeast. This high is expected to move east of Tasmania on Sunday strengthening the ridge to the north coast and the trough is expected to move westwards.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated showers and thunderstorms developing in the west and south, extending to central parts by evening. Hot to very hot across most districts. Partly cloudy in the north. North to northwesterly winds, fresh to strong in the west and south, ahead of a south to southwesterly change extending to the far northwest and central coastal districts by late evening.Saturday 19 JanuaryHot in the northern inland. Isolated showers in the north and along coast and east of the ranges ranges. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms across the north, mainly on the slopes and ranges. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds in the far northeast, ahead of south to southwesterly winds extending throughout.Fire Danger -  Very High: Riverina, Far Western, Upper and Lower Central West Plains, North Western.Sunday 20 JanuaryIsolated showers apart from the south. Isolated thunderstorms over the northern inland. South to southeast winds, tending northeast later in the southeast.Monday 21 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the north and east. Northeast to southeast winds.Tuesday 22 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the north and east.
