Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 18/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure continues to move over the northeast of the State and will clear by late Saturday. A high pressure system will develop south of the Bight on Saturday, moving east to be over the Tasman Sea on Monday. Further high pressure systems are expected to track to the south of South Australia next week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms north of about Woomera to Yunta. A hot evening in the northeast with light to moderate north to northwesterly winds. Mild about the coasts and warm elsewhere with moderate southerly winds.Saturday 19 JanuaryIsolated showers north of about Woomera to Broken Hill, increasing to scattered showers with isolated thunderstorms northeast of about Coober Pedy to Leigh Creek. Possible isolated light showers about the Lower South East coast, clearing during the morning. Mild to warm in the south, grading to hot in the north and continuing very hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.Sunday 20 JanuaryIsolated showers north of about Woomera to Broken Hill and possible isolated thunderstorms in the far north. Fine elsewhere. Warm to hot, very hot in the far northeast, with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds and coastal sea breezes.Monday 21 JanuaryIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms north of about Woomera to Leigh Creek. Fine elsewhere. Warm to hot, very hot in the far northeast. Light to moderate southeasterly winds, tending moderate to fresh southerly during the afternoon and evening.Tuesday 22 JanuaryIsolated showers across the far north contracting to the northeast and northwest corners of the State. Partly cloudy in the south with possible isolated showers about southern coasts. Mild to warm in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate south to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday afternoon until midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 2 mm about the coasts, and 2 to 5 mm over much of the north and northeast with local falls 5 to 15 mm with thunderstorms.Wednesday until FridayIsolated showers clearing from the State on Wednesday before redeveloping about western districts later on Thursday, then extending over agricultural areas on Friday. Warm to hot at first with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds, tending east to northeasterly ahead of a milder change overnight Thursday and on Friday. Very hot conditions continuing in the far northeast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
