Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 17/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front over the West Coast will move eastwards to cross central districts this evening and the far northeast of the State on Friday. A high pressure system will develop south of the Bight on Saturday, moving east to be over the Tasman Sea on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayPossible isolated showers and thunderstorms north of about Ernabella to Marree to Birdsville. Isolated showers and possible thunderstorms developing west of about Nullarbor in the evening, possible also about the Lower South East Coast late evening. Very hot with moderate to fresh north to northwesterly winds ahead of a cooler fresh to strong south to southwesterly change extending from the West Coast to cross central and South East districts in the evening. Areas of raised dust in the west with the change.Friday 18 JanuaryIsolated showers about southern and western coasts. Isolated showers north of about Oak Valley to Woomera, increasing to scattered showers with isolated thunderstorms northeast of Coober Pedy to Leigh Creek in the afternoon. Very hot in the northeast with light to moderate north to northwesterly winds. Mild about the coast, warm to hot elsewhere, with moderate to fresh southerly winds.Saturday 19 JanuaryIsolated showers north of about Woomera to Broken Hill, increasing to scattered showers with isolated thunderstorms northeast of about Coober Pedy to Leigh Creek. Possible isolated light showers about southern and western coasts, clearing in the morning. Mild to warm in the south, grading to hot in the north and continuing very hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.Sunday 20 JanuaryIsolated showers north of about Woomera to Broken Hill, increasing to scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the far north. Fine elsewhere. Warm to hot, very hot in the far northeast, with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds and coastal sea breezes.Monday 21 JanuaryIsolated showers and possible thunderstorms north of about Woomera to Broken Hill. Fine elsewhere. Warm to hot, very hot in the far northeast. Light to moderate southeasterly winds, tending moderate to fresh southerly during the afternoon and evening. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday afternoon until midnight Monday are expected to be less than 2 mm about southern and western coasts, with falls of 5 to 10 mm expected over much of the north and northeast with local falls up to 20 mm with thunderstorms.Tuesday until ThursdayIsolated showers across the far north on Tuesday and Wednesday, with possible isolated showers about the coasts on Tuesday. Isolated showers extending across western districts on Thursday. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds, tending east to northeasterly on Thursday.
