Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 15/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system has developed over the Tasman Sea and extends a ridge over the NSW coast while an inland trough lies over inland Queensland and far northwest NSW. The next significant frontal system is expected to approach NSW Thursday with hot northwest winds developing through western areas. The hot northwesterlies will extend across the state Friday before the front and associated southwest to southerly change reach southern districts.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers along the northern coast and adjacent ranges, clearing. Possible isolated afternoon thunderstorms over the far northern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Early fog patches about the ranges. Southeast to northeast winds.Wednesday 16 JanuaryThe chance of showers and thunderstorms over the far northern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.Thursday 17 JanuaryMostly sunny throughout. East to northeasterly winds, tending northwesterly in the west later.Friday 18 JanuaryIsolated showers and thunderstorms developing in the west and south, extending to central and northwest parts by evening. Very little rain expected in the western inland. Hot to very hot in most of the state. North to northwesterly winds, fresh to strong in the west and south, ahead of a west to southwesterly change extending to northwestern inland and central coastal districts by late evening.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Tuesday.Product IDN10031
