MELBOURNE - Jan 11/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure system will pass to the south of Tasmania today as a high pressure system forming south of the Bight extends towards Victoria. High level cloud extends from Western Australia, across South Australia to Victoria. An upper level trough will cross Victoria tomorrow. The high pressure ridge will extend across Southern Victoria on Monday, with a high centre forming over the Tasman Sea by Tuesday as a weak cold front crosses Tasmania. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayPartly cloudy with isolated showers, contracting to on and north of the dividing range this afternoon. Cool to mild in the south, warmer in the north with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds, freshening about the coast with seabreezes.Fire Danger - High to very high.Sunday 13 JanuaryMostly cloudy with isolated showers, tending to patchy rain over northern districts. Generally cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds.Monday 14 JanuaryIsolated showers in the east, clearing. A cool to mild and partly cloudy day in the south but warmer in the north. Light to moderate southerly winds.Tuesday 15 JanuaryFine and mainly sunny.
