MELBOURNE - Jan 11/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough will linger across the far northeast of the State during the weekend, as a high pressure system becomes established south of the Bight. The high will move slowly eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea by Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayAreas of cloud in the south with possible isolated showers south of about Nullarbor to Adelaide. Possible isolated thunderstorms about Lower Eyre and Yorke Peninsulas before sunrise. Mostly sunny in the north. Mild to warm about the coasts and South East, hot to very hot elsewhere. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds in the far northeast, moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds elsewhere.Sunday 13 JanuaryIsolated showers in a band from Lower Eyre Peninsula through to the Murraylands and Upper South East districts. Possible isolated showers over remaining parts of the agricultural area and the west coast, all clearing by late evening. Mild to warm about the agricultural area, hot to very hot elsewhere. Moderate to fresh northerly winds in the far northeast at first, with moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds extending throughout by evening. Areas of raised dust about the pastoral districts in the afternoon.Monday 14 JanuaryFine. Partly cloudy about the coast, mostly sunny inland. Mild to warm, grading to hot over the Flinders and Pastoral districts. Moderate to fresh southeast to east winds and afternoon sea breezes.Tuesday 15 JanuaryFine. Partly cloudy in the south, mostly sunny in the north. Mild to warm, grading to hot over the Flinders and Pastoral districts. Moderate southeast to east winds and afternoon sea breezes. Cumulative rainfall totals from Saturday until midnight Tuesday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm, although local falls of 2 to 5 mm are possible across the southern agricultural area.Wednesday until FridayPossible isolated showers about the Lower South East Coast Wednesday morning.
