Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 10/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over far northeastern New South Wales will move slightly to the west today and weaken as a high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge to the north coast. A cold front/trough system preceded by hot to very hot northwesterly winds will reach the southwest of the state late today, move through the southeast during Saturday, then through central and northeastern parts Saturday night and Sunday bring a milder southwest to southerly change to these districts. Very hot conditions are expected to continue in the northern inland until Monday when there will be a slight cooling trend.
Forecast for the rest of FridayIsolated afternoon thunderstorms in the northeast. Possible isolated thundery showers along the Victorian border in the far southeast but little if any rain. A little morning drizzle along the north coast. Early fog patches about the northern and central ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot to very hot inland. Northwest winds tending northeast along the coast, before a southwest change in the southwest. Possible dangerous surf conditions.Fire Danger -  Very High to Severe in most of NSW and ACT.Saturday 12 JanuaryThe chance of showers and thunderstorms in the northeast and the chance of a showers in the far south. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot to very hot apart from the southeast. Northwest to northeast in the north. Southeast to southwest in the south.Sunday 13 JanuaryMostly sunny and hot to very hot in the western and central inland. Isolated showers elsewhere with the chance of thunderstorms in the northeast . Hot to very hot in the northwest. Northwest to northeast winds in the northeast, south to southeasterly winds in the remainder.Monday 14 JanuaryIsolated showers in the east and in the far northern inland.
