Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 10/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough near western and southern coasts will move inland to reach the pastoral districts this evening. The trough will linger across the far northeast of the State during the weekend, as a high pressure system becomes established south of the Bight. The high will move east to the Tasman Sea later Monday.
Forecast for the rest of FridayA dry and mostly sunny day. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds, ahead of a milder southerly change extending across western and southern coasts during the morning, extending inland to reach the pastoral districts in the evening.Saturday 12 JanuaryAreas of cloud with possible isolated showers developing southwest of about Nullarbor to Adelaide to Mount Gambier. Mild to warm about the coasts and South East with moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds. Hot to very hot with light to moderate northerly winds in the far northeast.Sunday 13 JanuaryIsolated showers in a band from Lower Eyre Peninsula through to the Murraylands and Upper South East districts. Possible isolated showers over remaining agricultural areas and the west coast, all clearing by late evening. Mild to warm about southern agricultural areas, hot to very hot elsewhere. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds extending through to the far northeast corner by the end of the day. Moderate to fresh northerly winds in the far northeast.Monday 14 JanuaryFine. Partly cloudy about the coast, mostly sunny well inland. Mild to warm, grading to hot to very hot over the Flinders and Pastoral districts. Cumulative rainfall totals from Friday until midnight Monday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm, although local falls of 2 to 5 mm are possible across the southern agricultural area.Tuesday until ThursdayFine apart from isolated onshore showers clearing from the south by midday Wednesday. Warm in the south, grading to hot to very hot in the north with southerly winds at first, but becoming hot to very hot throughout as winds turn northeasterly ahead of a milder southwesterly wind change over western parts of the State late in the period, possibly bringing isolated showers.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
