MELBOURNE - Jan 9/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system will move over Victoria today, reaching the Tasman Sea tonight. The next low pressure trough will enter the southwest of Victoria on Friday morning then move across the remainder of the State Friday afternoon and evening. Another high pressure system is expected to move from Bight waters towards Victoria during the weekend. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayFine and mostly sunny until cloud increases from the southwest with isolated thundery showers possible in the southwest later in the day or at night. A mild to warm day with light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger - High to Very high.Friday 11 JanuaryHot with a freshening northwesterly wind, strong at times in the south, ahead of a fresh and gusty west to southwesterly change extending from the west. Milder in the south following the change. Isolated showers in the south with the risk of thunderstorms in the southwest during the morning but clearing during the afternoon.Saturday 12 JanuaryPartly cloudy with isolated showers possible in most districts, but generally dry. Cool to mild in the south, warm to hot in the north with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds, freshening about the coast with seabreezes.Sunday 13 JanuaryMostly cloudy with isolated showers.
