Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 9/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front over eastern and northern parts of the Tasman Sea links to a trough and weak low off the northern NSW coast. The trough and low will weaken further today as a high pressure centre develops off the southern NSW coast and moves east over the Tasman. Another trough and cold front over and south of WA will move steadily east today and approach NSW tomorrow with winds turning hot, dry northwesterly over most of the state. This trough and front will bring a milder southwest to southerly change to southern districts during Saturday though hot conditions will continue through most central and northern areas. The change is forecast to move along the northern coast Sunday but have little affect on the northern inland until Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayDrizzle patches along the north coast and adjacent ranges, more likely morning and evening. Isolated thunderstorms about the northern ranges afternoon and early evening. Morning fog patches about the ranges. Cloudy morning about the southern coast and ranges then a mostly sunny afternoon. Sunny west of the ranges. Hot day for the northern inland. East to southeast winds. Dangerous surf conditions developing from the south.Fire Danger -  Very High: Northern Slopes and North Western.Friday 11 JanuaryThe chance of isolated showers in the northeast and the chance of thunderstorms over the northern ranges and northwestern slopes. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot with winds tending northwesterly over the ranges and inland, and tending northeast on the coast. Dangerous surf conditions.Saturday 12 JanuaryMostly sunny. The chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast and northern inland. The chance of a shower in the south. Northwest to northeast in the north. Southeast to southwest in the south.Sunday 13 JanuaryPartly cloudy with the chance of isolated showers in the east and south, more likely on the southern parts of the coast and near the Victorian border. Northwest to northeast winds in the northeast of the state, with south to southeasterly winds in the remainder.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.Product IDN10031
