Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 8/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front east of Tasmania will continue moving eastwards as a high pressure system develops over the Bight today. This high will move eastwards reaching the Tasman Sea on Thursday. A weak trough will then move across southern parts of the State on Friday and then remain over inland districts as a new high pressure system becomes established over the Bight during the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayFine apart from isolated light showers about the southern coasts, clearing during the afternoon. Mild about the southern agricultural area, warm to hot further north. Moderate to fresh southerly winds.Thursday 10 JanuaryDry. Warm about southern coasts, hot to very hot elsewhere. Light to moderate east to northeasterly winds and local afternoon coastal sea breezes.Friday 11 JanuaryDry. Areas of cloud extending across the south. Mild to warm about the coasts, hot to very hot inland. Moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, fresh in the south ahead of a milder southwesterly change extending from the west during the day.Saturday 12 JanuaryAreas of cloud with possible isolated showers southwest of about Nullarbor to Adelaide. Mild to warm about the coasts, hot inland and very hot in the north. Light to moderate northerly winds over the Northeast Pastoral, moderate to fresh southeasterly winds elsewhere. Cumulative rainfall totals from Wednesday until midnight Saturday are expected to be less than 2 mm about southern coasts. No significant rainfall is expected elsewhere.Sunday until TuesdayContinuing dry and very hot in the far north. Mild to warm about southern coasts and warm to hot inland. Areas of cloud with isolated showers on Sunday, clearing east overnight then generally fine and mostly sunny through Monday and Tuesday. Light to moderate northerly winds in the far north, moderate to fresh southeasterly winds elsewhere.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Wednesday.Product IDS10033
