Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 7/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough will move slowly across the northeast of the State and a cold front will cross the southeast of the State today as a high pressure system develops south of the Bight. This high will move eastwards across the Bight on Wednesday, reaching the Tasman Sea on Thursday. A weak trough will then move across southern parts of the State on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine apart from isolated light showers developing about the southern coasts from late morning and possible afternoon and early evening thunder in the far north. Mild to warm about southern coastal districts, hot to very hot elsewhere. Light to moderate north to northwesterly winds in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southerly winds in the south, extending into the far north during the afternoon and evening.Wednesday 9 JanuaryFine apart from isolated light showers about the southern coasts clearing during the afternoon. Mild to warm about the southern agricultural area, hot to very hot further north. Moderate to fresh southerly winds, extending throughout during the day.Thursday 10 JanuaryDry. Warm about southern coasts, hot to very hot elsewhere. Light to moderate east to northeasterly winds and local afternoon coastal sea breezes.Friday 11 JanuaryDry. Areas of cloud extending across the south. Mild to warm about the coasts, hot to very hot inland. Cumulative rainfall totals from Tuesday until midnight Friday are expected to be less than 2 mm about southern coasts. No significant rainfall is expected elsewhere.Saturday until MondayAreas of cloud with possible isolated showers south of about Adelaide. Warm to hot in the south, very hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
