Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 6/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A broad low pressure trough extends from northwestern Australia into southeastern New South Wales bringing hot to very hot conditions to the inland parts of the state. A high pressure system located to the west of Tasmania is extending a ridge along the coast. The high pressure system is expected to move into the Tasman Sea on Monday. During Tuesday and Wednesday a southerly change will move through southern parts of the state and temperature behind the change west of the Divide will become milder. The southerly change will move through northeastern parts of the state on Wednesday. Hot to very hot conditions inland are expected to return on Friday as the trough redevelops over the west.
Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms in the northwestern and southeastern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot to very hot in the west. Northeast to southeast winds.Monday 7 JanuaryPossible early drizzle over southern parts of the coast. Chance of a morning shower in the northeast of the state. Isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms in the west of the state. Hot to very hot in the west. Southeast to northeast winds on the coast, east to northeasterly inland tending northwesterly in the southwest of the state.Fire Danger -  Very High: North Western Fire Area, Riverina, Southern Slopes.Tuesday 8 JanuarySunny. Hot to very hot northwesterly winds ahead a milder southerly change in the south, and extending along the southern and central parts of the coast.Wednesday 9 JanuaryIsolated showers about the north coast and adjacent east ranges. Mostly sunny remainder. Hot to very hot northwesterly airstream in the north of the state ahead of milder southwest to southeast winds.Thursday 10 JanuaryEarly drizzle possible around central parts of the coast. Isolated showers along the north coast and adjacent ranges. Isolated thunderstorms on the northern ranges. Partly cloudy over the ranges and coast. Sunny inland. Hot in the north of the state.
