MELBOURNE - Jan 5/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad low pressure trough extends from northwestern Australia into southeastern New South Wales bringing hot to very hot conditions to the inland parts of the state and a high pressure system is moving towards Tasmania extending a ridge along the coast. During Tuesday and Wednesday a southerly change will move through the state and temperature behind the change west of the Divide will become slightly milder. Hot to very hot conditions inland are expected to come back on Thursday as the trough redevelops over the west. Forecast for the rest of SundayThe chance early showers on teh far north coast . The chance of afternoon and evening thunderstorms in the northwestern and southeastern inland. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot to very hot in the west. Northeast to southeast winds.Fire Danger - Very High: Greater, Hunter, central & southern ranges, and parts of the slopes, plains &Riverina.Monday 7 JanuarySunny. Hot to very hot in the west. Southeast to northeast winds on the coast, east to northeasterly inland tending northwesterly in the south.Tuesday 8 JanuarySunny. Hot to very hot northwesterly winds ahead a milder southerly change in the south and near the central coast.Wednesday 9 JanuaryIsolated showers about the north coast and adjacent east ranges. Mostly sunny remainder.
