Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 4/13 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A slow moving high over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge over the NSW coast and hot but quite light northerly winds over west of the state. A weak trough will reach the far south and west of the state tomorrow but very hot temperatures are expected for inland parts of the state until a more major cool change moves south to north across the state Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayMostly clear. Hot evening in the far west. North to northeast winds, fresh along southern and central parts of the coast.Saturday 5 JanuaryIsolated light showers possible along the northern coast and adjacent ranges during the morning. The chance of late afternoon/evening thunderstorms about the southern ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Very hot west of the ranges. North to northeast winds, freshening along the coast in the afternoon, before tending light to moderate southerly on the south coast and in the far southwest.Fire Danger -  Very high across state apart from far northeast.Sunday 6 JanuaryIsolated showers along the northern coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of afternoon/evening thunderstorms about the southern ranges. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot to very hot in the west. Northeast to southeast winds.Monday 7 JanuaryIsolated showers along the coast, more likely in the north. Mostly sunny elsewhere. Hot to very hot in the west. Southeast to northeast winds on the coast, east to northeasterly inland tending northwesterly in the south.Tuesday 8 JanuaryIsolated showers possible about the far north coast and about the southern coast later. Mostly sunny remainder. Hot through most of the state with northwesterly winds before a cooler southerly change in the south and about central parts of the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Saturday.Product IDN10031
